HOT OFF THE PRESS: RELIANT APPAREL ADDS MOBILE SCREEN PRINTER

Reliant Apparel, a Black-owned and woman-owned business in Downtown Topeka, KS, continues to invest in its business and its customers with the addition of a four color portable press and dryer that enable technicians to produce up to 120 screen printed items in an hour in nearly any offsite location.
“This mobile printer gives us more opportunities to create fun, branded items for customers in an interactive setting,” says Clinton Appelhanz, the company’s co-owner and president. “People love to see items being made in real-time. It’s more of an experience.”
The company plans to take the mobile screen printer to venues like Evergy Plaza’s Market Mondays, select First Friday Artwalks and other community events, allowing attendees to see first-hand how garments are made and buy one literally hot-off-the press.
Anna Stauffer, co-owner and business manager, foresees customers hiring Reliant to bring the press to their events. “I envision conferences where attendees can get a freshly-printed branded apparel item from an exhibitor,” she says. “We’re proud to be able to offer this service to companies who want to stand out on a crowded trade show floor or create a unique and memorable experience at their class reunion.”

Since its start in 2011, Reliant Apparel’s founders have always had a philosophy of innovation. “We’re always asking, how can we do things better? What else can we do to serve our customers and our community: we want to be there,” says Appelhanz. Discovering and filling unmet needs is one key to their success.
“Something else that really matters to us is quality,” adds Stauffer. “Our screen printing and embroidery are all produced here in our downtown location, so we have constant oversight of the products we’re creating. We’re proud to have our name on our work,” she says.
