Stormont Vail Health Announces The Addition Of Emergency Medicine Physician

Stormont Vail Health is proud to announce that Ross Miller, M.D., is joining the team to practice as an emergency medicine physician, located at the Stormont Vail Emergency Department, 1500 S.W. Tenth Ave., Topeka, Kan., 66604.

Dr. Miller became interested in medicine when he was a child and spent time with a relative who had a chronic disease, attending medical appointments. He began working as a medical scribe in an emergency department, and that is when his love for emergency medicine came alive.

“When people come into the emergency department, it’s one of the worst moments of their lives, and that is an opportunity for us to connect with them,” said Dr. Miller. “I strive to make meaningful connections with all of my patients and their families so that they know that they will be well taken care of.”

Dr. Miller earned his medical degree in 2018 and completed his emergency medicine residency in 2021 at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, Kan.

“I chose Stormont Vail to practice medicine because it is a leader in providing health care,” said Dr. Miller. “Stormont Vail is a Level II Trauma Center, an accredited chest pain center, a stroke center, and the goals and tenets of the organization align with my own in how to practice care in high-quality, evidence-based medicine.”

Dr. Miller likes to spend time with his wife, friends and family. They are big foodies and enjoy finding new restaurants. They both also like to hike, garden and play racquetball.
