Red Cross Greater Kansas chapter announces 2021-2022 Leadership

Red Cross Greater Kansas chapter announces 2021-2022 Leadership

The American Red Cross Greater Kansas Chapter proudly announces its 2021-2022 Board of Directors will be led by the new leadership team of Mikayla Hermesch, Board Chair, Kevin Charlwood, Vice Chair, and Jade Kerr, Secretary.

Hermesch, community relations specialist at Blue Cross Blue Shield, has been on the Red Cross board for two years. She also oversees the Employee Disaster Response Team at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas with team members deploying and supporting Red Cross during large disasters within Kansas, as well as participating in Sound the Alarm and Pillowcase Project events.

“My goals for the Greater Kansas Chapter are to grow our relationships within the community one person, one volunteer and one donor at a time,” said Hermesch. “Serving as an integral element in our community, the Red Cross must be one of the first agencies on the minds of our community when there is a disaster, a house fire, a need in the Armed Forces community, a blood donation, or training class needed.”

Hermesch, Charlwood and Kerr will each serve a one-year term in their Red Cross leadership roles. Other 2021-2022 board members include: Brandon Aldridge, Maria Anderson, Corey Becker, Sarah Diehl, Tim Emerson, Monique Glaude, Kirk Johnson, Misty Kruger, Brett Leopold, Doug Meyers, Joe Molina, Laine Raitinger, Cindy Schneider, Tim Selgelid, McDowell Steele, Colleen Stuart, Brandon Taylor, Allyson Wetter, and Jan Zillinger.

“Mikayla, Kevin and Jade are already serving as important members of our community and lead through example,” said Jane Blocher, Greater Kansas Area Chapter Executive Director. “We are thankful for their vision, dedication and understanding of the importance of the Red Cross mission in our community.”
