Topeka Performing Arts Center Announces Ticket Sales for New Holiday Event, The Kready Holiday Spectacular

The Topeka Performing Arts Center announced today that a new holiday tradition will debut in the Georgia Neese Gray auditorium at TPAC this December. The Kready Holiday Spectacular, presented by CoreFirst Bank & Trust, will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. on December 23. With 17 Broadway shows between them, Broadway stars Jeff Kready and Nikki Renée Daniels promise to thrill with vocal stylings that are direct from New York but have a hometown heart. The event will feature “Santa’s Symphony,” a special group of musicians from the Topeka Symphony Orchestra (conducted by maestro Nicolas Carr) and the Shawnee Choral Society, to make sure the evening offers all the winter wonderland feels.

“I am thrilled to bring my family home for Christmas!” said Jeff Kready, a Topeka native and star of such Broadway productions as Company, Tootsie, and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. “I grew up on the TPAC stage, so getting to perform there now is a dream come true. For years I’ve wanted to create something special for Topeka, and after nearly two decades in show business, the stars have aligned and it’s happening this December.”

“Topeka feels like a second hometown to me,” said Nikki Renée Daniels, star of stage and screen, including Broadway productions like Company, Hamilton, Book of Mormon and others. “As an honorary Topekan, I am so excited to perform at TPAC with my family, and to spread some holiday cheer to a town that has always enveloped me in such a warm embrace.”

The holiday spectacular will include special appearances by Danielle Norwood of KMAJ, the Countryside Methodist Puppets, the Laudate Ringers, and Santa Claus himself, who will be on hand to take pictures after the concert!

“Jeff Kready is a hometown hero — a graduate of Washburn Rural High School and Washburn University,” said Larry Gawronski, executive director of the Topeka Performing Arts Center. “He and his wife, Nikki Renée Daniels, have made their mark on Broadway. Together, with their two daughters, they are ‘coming home’ with a Holiday Spectacular that is sure to wow everyone and help us celebrate the season!”

“Visit Topeka is excited to see the start of a new holiday tradition in the capital city,” said Sean Dixon, president of Visit Topeka. “With Zoo Lights, Winter Wonderland, and Miracle on Kansas Avenue, people from across our entire region have discovered the magic of Christmas in Topeka. This new show will feature two of Broadway’s brightest lights and make the holiday spirit shine even brighter here. We encourage everyone to get their tickets while they last!”

VIP ticket holders are invited to a meet-and-greet with the Kready family and cast after the show, and will get a copy of Daniels’ solo CD, “Home,” while supplies last.
