Jones Project Speaker Shares Mental Health Hope with Mammoth, School Administrators
Mammoth hosted mental health speaker Damon Parker of the Jones Project, who shared a message intended to change the conversation about mental health, with the goal of more awareness and treatment of mental health challenges.
More than 100 Mammoth staff, their families, and school administrators attended the entertaining and inspirational presentation.
The event was a way for school administrators to preview the Jones Project message and consider bringing Damon to their district as a speaker. It was also a gateway for Mammoth staff to understand the message of hope and mental health awareness and spread it to schools through its athletics construction projects around the county.
“Mammoth is a support system for our staff, their families, and the schools we serve,” said Mammoth founder and CEO Jake Farrant. “Mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing is so important. We want everyone to know if they’re struggling now or in the future, there’s hope.”
Through its presentations, The Jones Project shares actionable steps on mental health and emotional regulation that helps people manage their mental health before it reaches a crisis point. Because of fundraising, all programming for Kansas school districts and their students is free.
“It doesn’t matter the size of the school or where they are in Kansas, we love having the opportunity to present this action for healing,” Parker said. “Everyone deserves to know there’s hope for treatment and triumph over mental health hardship.”
Parker’s presentation includes personal stories from his own mental health journey together with resources for mental health help and how to support a friend in crisis.
