Visit Topeka launches Dino Days Explorer Passport

Visit Topeka launches Dino Days Explorer Passport

As part of Topeka Dino Days, Visit Topeka has launched a mobile passport experience, allowing visitors to become true explorers documenting their travel this spring to Topeka’s hottest dinosaur exhibits. The launch follows the opening on Feb. 4 of “SUE: The T. rex Experience,” which welcomed more than 1,000 visitors during its opening weekend.

The Topeka Dino Days Explorer Passport is a mobile, free-to-download experience that allows users to check in at each location on the passport’s four-exhibit trail. The four stops include “SUE: The T. rex Experience” at Great Overland Station, “Tiny Titans: Dinosaur Eggs and Babies” at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center, “Dinosaurs Alive! Created by Dino Don Inc.” at the Topeka Zoo, and the “Topeka Dino Days Base Camp” at the downtown Topeka Visitors Center.

Check in at all four locations to claim your Dino Days patch and a chance to win one of several local Topeka giveaways! Prize items include five $50 gift cards to The Pennant and two $125 gift cards to Iron Rail Brewing. The grand prize is a certificate for a one-night stay at the Cyrus Hotel and dinner at Fedeli’s Steak & Pasta. Additional prize information, including terms and conditions, is available at TopekaDinoDays.com/passport.html.

“This is a great way for visitors and locals alike to feel they’re truly part of the Dino Days action,” said Sean Dixon, president of Visit Topeka. “Our community has worked hard to bring Topeka Dino Days to the capital city, and the passport is yet another component of this city-wide adventure. Let the journey begin!”

The passport is available now and may be downloaded at TopekaDinoDays.com. Scroll to the bottom on the website’s home page and click “Get the explorer passport” to claim yours. Upon signing up, the mobile passport is instantly delivered via text and email.

Visit Topeka has partnered with technology company Bandwango to make this passport experience possible. The last day to sign up for the passport is May 1, but users have until June 30 to check in at all four stops.

“SUE: The T. rex Experience” is open now through May 1. “Tiny Titans: Dinosaur Eggs and Babies” and the “Topeka Dino Days Base Camp” will be open Feb. 24 through May 30. “Dinosaurs Alive: Created by Dino Don Inc.” will run March 10 through June 30.
