EnvistaCares Challenge Announces Lawrence REALTORS® Community Foundation Donation Results

Lawrence REALTORS® Community Foundation and Envista Credit Union are pleased to announce that thanks to community support totaling $3,175, Lawrence REALTORS® Community Foundation will receive the challenge match of $2,500 from Envista. In total, $5,675 in contributions during the month of February.

“It is our goal to highlight and support organizations like Lawrence REALTORS® Community Foundation that are doing exceptional work in the community,” said Tara Dimick, chief business development officer of Envista. “It is exciting to see the community step up to the challenge.”

The Lawrence REALTORS® Community Foundation has supported local charitable organizations that have programs that help stabilize jeopardized households within Douglas County. Everyone should have an opportunity to have a safe place to call home. Since becoming a 501©(3) in July 2018, the Lawrence REALTORS® Community Foundation has awarded over $90,000 to local non-profit charitable organizations, as well as over $52,000 in housing assistance following the 2019 tornado that hit Douglas County.

“The Lawrence REALTORS® Community Foundation is so grateful for the opportunity to participate in the EnvistaCares Challenge. The additional donations from the challenge will go right to work assisting charitable programs in our community that help to stabilize households by providing essential housing needs, said Rob Hulse, executive vice-president of Lawrence Board of REALTORS®. “The matching contribution from Envista expands our reach and doubles our ability to have a positive impact and keep people in their homes. Additionally, the EnvistaCares Challenge has provided tremendous exposure for the Lawrence REALTORS® Community Foundation, helping our community learn what the charitable arm of the REALTOR® organization is all about.”

The EnvistaCares Challenge was created in April of 2019 and has helped raise more than $300,000 for local organizations. The Challenge includes an in-kind gift to the organization of a media buy that is valued at more than $10,000 and a $2,500 challenge grant. The media buy includes radio, emails, online ads, social media and interviews. The challenge grant provides a dollar-for-dollar match up to $2,500 for gifts given during the month that the organization is spotlighted. In 2021, Envista added an evergreen video to the gifts so that each organization could have a quality video that could tell their story.

“We found that marketing dollars for nonprofits are in short supply and we wanted to be sure that the impact of the EnvistaCares Challenge could last beyond one month,” said Dimick. “We wanted to help provide a tool that local organizations could use for many months or even years to come.”
