Elizabeth Rogers M.D., joins Stormont Vail Health

Stormont Vail Health is proud to announce that Elizabeth Rogers, M.D., has joined our Palliative Medicine & Supportive Care team. This team provides an extra layer of care to you and your family at any stage of an illness.

“When people think about hospice and palliative care, they think of end of life and how sad that can be, which is true,” said Dr. Elizabeth Rogers. “But, it’s also really important work and my job is to make that as good of a transition as possible.”

Dr. Rogers said it’s an honor to work with patients and families in these hard times, but calls sitting at the bedside for final moments a “profound moment, beyond words.” In her work, it’s important for her to make sure those moments truly honor who the person is and to provide the best care for the individual.

“I’m there to take care of my patients. I’m a physician and may be writing medications, but I’m a person too and I am there to know more about you than what it says in the medical chart.”

When Dr. Rogers is not at work, you can find her outside on the bike. Every couple of years, Dr. Rogers and her father embark on a long ride together, going about 200-250 miles over four days.

Dr. Elizabeth Rogers is joining Stormont Vail after working as an Assistant Professor of Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She graduated Magna Cum-Laude with a bachelor’s degree in history from Hendrix College in Arkansas. Dr. Rogers attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences before completing her residency there in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

Dr. Rogers has presented in medical program classes and at Medicine Resident Conferences on hospice care. She has also taught her own courses, is involved in many Palliative Care Committees, and has served as the Chair for the Clinical Competency Committee for Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship.
