Sisters at Heart | TVM Spotlight

Barb and Jane have been friends for over 25 years and feel they are more like sisters than friends. You can find Sisters at Heart down the center aisle on the main level of Topeka Vendors Market. When TVM opened, they decided to turn their shared passion for running, and their long-time friendship into a partnership. Sisters at Heart specializes in upcycling old furniture into statement pieces and creating handmade décor, jewelry, and fashion accessories.

What is the focus of your merchandise?

We bring new life to older items through paint and upholstery. We try to give each piece a “wow-factor” so it’s unique and makes a statement in your home. For example, we sold an antique chair that was reupholstered with fabric that had a unique parrot pattern. The items you’ll find in our booth are inspired by furniture and décor you might find in our own homes.

What other unique items can we find in your booth?

Our booth is also filled with an eclectic mix of handmade décor and fashion accessories. You’ll find felted décor, rug-hooked art mats, pottery, and upcycled hummingbird feeders and bird houses. We also hand-make jewelry, soap dishes, and have handmade kitchen essentials. We offer crocheted, knitted, and felted scarves, but also have started making beautiful one-of-a kind eco-printed silk scarves that captures the colors and prints contained in leaves and other natural materials, making each scarf one-of-a-kind.
