Advisors Excel Raises Nearly $1.1 Million for Folds of Honor
In keeping with its commitment to the local community and the communities our advisors serve, Advisors Excel and its affiliated financial professionals recently raised $1,080,250 for Folds of Honor during a training event in San Diego. The gift will help fund more than 216 scholarships for families of fallen and disabled military heroes and first responders across the country.
Folds of Honor was created in 2007 when Lieutenant Colonel Dan Rooney flew home from his second tour of duty in Iraq. As his flight landed, the pilot announced they were carrying the remains of Corporal Brock Bucklin on board. As he watched Corporal Bucklin’s twin brother accompany the flag-covered casket to meet his brother’s young family on the tarmac, Lt Col Rooney was moved by Corp. Bucklin’s young son and the family’s obvious grief. Since that night, he has committed his life through Folds of Honor to provide scholarships to families of deceased and disabled service members. In 2022, Folds of Honor expanded its mission to include the families of first responders.
“We work with the country's most generous and patriotic advisors,” said Advisors Excel Co-Founder Cody Foster. “We aren’t surprised they stepped up to support an amazing organization like Folds of Honor. With their generous support we sent a clear message: if you risk your life to protect our great freedoms, we will always have your back.”
Advisors Excel raised funds in conjunction with more than 450 of the nation’s top financial professionals attending a two-day training event in San Diego. The company hosts the event annually, including an opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause. At the 2022 event, $1 million was raised for The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Since 2008, Advisors Excel and its affiliated independent financial professionals have raised approximately $6.4 million to help incredible nonprofits and organizations around the country.
“We are so humbled by the unwavering support from Cody, Dave, and the entire team from Advisors Excel and their affiliated financial advisors,” said LT Colonel Dan Rooney, CEO/Founder of Folds of Honor. “Since 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded over 44,000 scholarships thanks to the generosity of partners like Advisors Excel.”
