PT’s Coffee Roasting Co. Celebrates 30 Years
Internationally-renowned specialty coffee roaster PT’s Coffee celebrates its 30th anniversary on Friday, February 3rd, following a string of recent successes:
Premier industry resource Coffee Review selected Yemen Haraaz Red Mahal Aqeeq ul Station Natural—from the high-end PT’s Blue Label collection—as the No. 1 Coffee of 2022, with a stellar 97-point review.
Meanwhile, a Blue Label offering from Panama—Hacienda Bajo Mono Static Gesha Natural—is a 2023 Good Food Awards Finalist. Judging in the Coffee category recognizes flavor in tandem with social and environmental responsibility. PT’s most recently won a Good Food Award in 2021 with an heirloom Ethiopian single-origin coffee from a small woman-owned farm in Yirgacheffe.
Recent press coverage includes a spot on Gear Patrol’s list of the 25 Best Coffee Roasters in America in 2022 and 2021, as well as the title of Food & Wine’s Best Coffee Roaster in Kansas in 2022 and 2019.
To extend their impact beyond longtime Direct Trade partnerships, PT’s launched a series of fundraisers for organizations dedicated to fostering positive change in the Topeka community and along the global coffee supply chain with Coffees for a Cause.
Founded as a small cafe in 1993, PT’s rose to prominence upon being named Roast Magazine’s Roaster of the Year in 2009. Today, PT’s operates three cafes in Kansas City and Topeka, an online retail business, and a wholesale program supplying partners nationwide.
The anniversary celebration kicks off on Friday, Feb. 3rd, with 25% off coffee orders on ptscoffee.com and free batch brew at PT’s cafes on Friday only. New product rollouts and special events will continue through 2023.
