20 Under 40 | JEFF MAXON
Jeff currently serves as the Chief Information Technology Officer and the Chief Information Security Officer for the State of Kansas.
He is responsible for leading the state’s information technology and cybersecurity efforts, ensuring Kansas citizens have access to secure digital government services.
He was instrumental in building the Kansas Information Security Office (KISO) to protect state agencies from cyber threats.
Mindful of the shortage of qualified personnel in cybersecurity, Jeff started an internship program within the State of Kansas. It has converted several interns to full time employees who have immediately contributed to the team.
When he isn’t working or serving in the Kansas Air National Guard, Jeff volunteers his time coaching several youth sports teams and with his church’s youth group.
