Reed Dental Center Launches Two New Month-long Initiatives
In celebration of their one-year anniversary, Topeka-based Reed Dental Center announced two new month-long initiatives they are launching as part of National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM) in February.
Sponsored by the American Dental Association, NCDHM raises awareness about the importance of oral health.
Starting Feb 1, area students will have the opportunity to participate in a coloring contest celebrating NCDHM and this year’s theme “Brush, Floss, Smile!” Coloring sheets can be accessed at the Reed Dental Center office at 2123 SW Fairlawn Dr, or online at ReedDentalCenter.com. The contest is open to any child ages 12 or under, regardless of whether they are a patient of Reed Dental Center. Completed coloring sheets should be turned in to the Reed Dental Center office by February 28 at 5:00 pm. Students are encouraged to flex their creativity- each coloring page will be reviewed by the Reed Dental Center team and seven (7) winners will be chosen for prizes. Full contest rules are available at the Reed Dental Center website.
Prizes for the coloring contest include toys and gifts from local vendors such as Dee and Mee Hobbies and Cards and Such.
In addition to the coloring contest, Dr. Reed and his team will be going to pre-kindergarten classrooms to give instruction on how to properly brush and floss teeth. These visits further the NCDHM goal of building good habits from an early age so that children have a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.
These initiatives are the latest in Dr. Reed’s community outreach efforts. “National Children’s Dental Health Month is a great way for us to reach the young population within our community and teach them about proper oral healthcare when they may have never had any instruction before,” according to Dr. Reed. “It is our hope to develop healthy habits in the children of our community to help them maintain their teeth for life.”
Both initiatives also celebrate Reed Dental Center’s first year of being open for business. “I am truly grateful to the people of my community who have supported my business and my dream of providing the best dental care to my friends and neighbors in my hometown,” said Dr. Reed.
