What do you love most about your work?
What I love most about my job is that I get to help operate and manage a state-of-the-art facility in Evergy Plaza that is located in the heart of Downtown Topeka. I love that we get to host and produce amazing events and activities for our community to enjoy every day.

Being able to engage with lots of different people from our community that visit our facility and enjoy the space is rewarding in the fact that when people visit my work its usually filled with smiling faces and a community making memories.

What should one never take for granted?
Opportunity. I think that there are so many people that don’t get opportunities that one should never take it for granted. In your personal life or professional life, we need to make the most out of the opportunities that we get because you don’t know how many more you may or may not get.

What do you collect?
I am not sure if you would consider it a collection being that I wear these things...but I have a lot of hats and shoes! I guess my only reasoning behind having so many is that I can show a little bit of my personality through them.

What’s the last series you binge-watched?
Yellowstone. I was late getting started in all the hype, but I managed to watch all 5 seasons in 2 weeks. Let’s just say my wife wasn’t thrilled (lol), but she secretly loves my inner cowboy.

What is the most important part of your work?
I would say that the most important part of my work is providing a great experience for our community either by providing greats events and activity or by working with other community groups to help provide a space for their events to be successful. We want to provide a fun safe space for the community to be able to enjoy and connect with each other.

What is the biggest professional goal you have accomplished?
I think that throughout my professional career there have been goals that I have set out to do and accomplished, but I don’t think there has been anything bigger than being accepted into Leadership Greater Topeka thus far. I hope being selected into this program opens new perspective and goals for myself as I continue to grow and learn.

What motivates you?
Growth is something that motivates me as this is something that I can work at every day and there is no end. You can learn new things everyday as long as you have an open mind to do so.

What are you grateful for?
I am grateful for my journey. If you know me, I am a true believer in the statement "everything happens for a reason" and throughout my journey there have been ups and downs just like most of us encounter. These things help mold me into the person that I am today and mi grateful and stronger for all of it.

What do you do for fun or to recharge?
I love to be around my family and friends. Spending time with my wife and kids rather that’s going to the park and enjoying the outdoors or spending some time at the pool I think that is safe to say that Summer is the season of choice for our family. I enjoy socializing with friends either enjoying some sporting events to chasing the ball around the golf course for a few hours it’s always nice to have a great work life balance.

If you could choose one superhuman ability, what would it be?
Time travel. I think that it would be cool to be able to travel back in time and into the future. To be able to see the things of the past and revisit things like loved ones or relive old memories and then be able to see what the future holds for us as we are forever evolving, I’d be interested to see how the world would look 300, 500 years from now.
