What do you love most about your work?
I love that in my role at Bartlett & West no one day is ever the same. Whether it's arranging travel for one of our 300+ employee owners, the planning and execution of various events, coordinating charitable giving requests for Topeka and surrounding communities, or working on our internal newsletter, there's always a variety of things to do.
What is one piece of advice that has served you well in your journey and who did you get it from?
I was going through a difficult time in my life and a former manager/friend told me that until I could be happy being me and being on my own, I wouldn't be good for anyone else.
What do you do for fun or to recharge?
I love to do all kinds of crafts, but I especially enjoy making wreaths and floral centerpieces.
What’s the last series you binge-watched?
Sweet Magnolias on Netflix
What is your favorite app?
Pinterest....it's endless possibilities!!!
What characteristics do you value most in your coworkers?
Honest; Good Communicator; Respectful; Professional
What 3 critical skills help you in your work?
Communication; Creativity; Organization
What should one never take for granted?
Tomorrow is never a given so live each day to the fullest.
What do you think the secret to a good life is?
Be true to yourself and do what makes you happy; don't sweat the small stuff and surround yourself with those that share your passion for life.
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My Aunt Donna...there are so many similarities in our life experiences from our youth through adulthood. She's an inspiration for me on many levels as she worked tirelessly throughout her life to overcome some of life's challenges. In doing so, she continued to grow both personally and professionally and has made an amazing life for herself and her family. I watched all of this while growing up and it made me realize and understand that anything is possible. To this day, she is one of the first people I'll reach out to when I want to share good news or ask for advice.
What music artist do you never get tired of?
Alabama
What would we mostly likely see you doing on a weekend?
Given that it's football season now, I'd be watching a Chief's game, catching up on work around the house and enjoying some down time.
