Fellowship Hi-Crest Launches “Generation - Captivate, Cultivate, and Create”: A Program Focused on Empowering Students through Digital Creation
Fellowship Hi-Crest is proud to announce the launch of Generation, a new program aimed at empowering students with the practical skills necessary to excel in the fields of photography, videography, and the entertainment industry. The program, housed in Fellowship Hi-Crest’s studio 104, offers students opportunities to engage in training around digital, audio, and video production.
Like a powerful river, students are always moving toward adulthood. Without control and direction, they can cause a flood, but channeled properly, they can generate enough power to transform a city. Within a 2mi. radius of Fellowship Hi-Crest, minority students are slated to have a household income between $19,000 and $26,000 a year at age 35. This makes Hi-Crest a cradle-to-poverty neighborhood unless a change is made midstream. In 2022 there were close to 68,000 jobs in Kansas that require digital literacy skills, and though Generation Z is dubbed the age of “digital natives,” 40% of families within this same radius are reported not to have access to the internet, deepening the lack of access to professional growth for students in Hi-Crest. The Generation program seeks to leverage these opportunities to help students draft a new future for themselves.
The program’s three-fold strategy focuses on Captivating, Cultivating, and Creating opportunities for students. Through captivating life-changing experiences, students are offered opportunities to capture the world around them through digital, audio, and visual media. By cultivating loving relationships with mentors working in the field of digital creation, students are given a clear picture of creative excellence and a clear path to success. Finally, creating life-giving resources through training opportunities allows students to build their portfolios in Audio Production, Videography.
As part of its commitment to creating life-giving resources, Fellowship Hi-Crest will host a Tech Training Camp in the summer. The camp will bring in digital creation experts as contractors to provide specialized training for students. The camp will be free except for a $25 deposit. If a student misses no more than one session, $20 will be returned, and $5 will be kept for processing fees. The details of the camp are as follows:

More details about each session will be shared on our social media (Facebook & Instagram) , so be sure to follow @fellowshiphicrest to stay up to date on upcoming opportunities and events.
Fellowship Hi-Crest believes that Generation is not only an opportunity for students to learn practical skills but also a chance to discover and unlock their full creative potential. The program’s commitment to offering life-changing experiences, cultivating loving relationships, and creating life-giving resources is a testament to Fellowship Hi-Crest’s dedication to empowering the next generation of digital creators.
