What does being a leader mean to you?
My most important task as a leader is mentoring and helping others develop their careers. In turn, this helps Bartlett & West expand as a company and grow the positive impact we make on the communities we serve.
Who is your mentor and what have you learned from them?
I’ve been lucky to have lots of great mentors, but the one who’s had the greatest impact on me is Keith Warta. Keith is a true servant leader and models lots of outstanding leadership qualities such as integrity, a strong work ethic, always seeing the best in people and being generous with your time. I’ve done my best to follow his example in all of these aspects, but the lasting impact on me is how generous he is with his time. Despite all of his other commitments at work, home and in the community, Keith made time to invest in me, which had an immeasurable impact on me and my career. I try to always remind myself of what kind of impact I can have when I share my time with others.
Who would play you in a movie about your life and why?
Vince Vaughn. A family member once said that there is a striking resemblance between us, and I’ve never been able to forget it. He was in the movie "Dodgeball,” and I used to be pretty good at dodgeball when I was a kid, too.
