Celebrate World Elephant Day at the Topeka Zoo
The Topeka Zoo and Conservation Center will join zoos around the world in observing World Elephant Day this Saturday, August 10th, 9:00-3:00 at the zoo.
Though populations of wild elephants continue to decline across Africa and Asia, organizations continue to do great work for the conservation of these amazing animals.
The zoos observation of World Elephant Day on Aug 10th will include:
A keeper chat from the zoo’s elephant management team at 10:30 AM
A Docent information booth on elephants worldwide
Making elephant hats for kids of all ages throughout the day
And an opportunity to take the Elephant Pledge for your part in protecting the
world’s wild elephants from right here in Topeka Join the Topeka Zoo on August 10th, 9:00-3:00 to learn more about elephants, the challenges they face, and what we are doing to help save elephants throughout their native ranges.
