Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library hosts bestselling author Lisa Scottoline

The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library is hosting a moderated conversation, Q & A and book signing with Lisa Scottoline bestselling author of legal thrillers, historical fiction and essays on Monday, September 30 at 7pm. Registration for this free author event will open Thursday, August 15 at 9 a.m.

Scottoline is a #1 Bestselling Author, The New York Times bestselling author and Edgar award-winning author of 36 novels, including her latest work "The Truth about the Devlins." Her novels are known for their emotionality and their warm and down-to-earth characters, which resonate with readers and reviewers long after they have finished the books. When writing about Scottoline’s Rosato & Associates series, Janet Maslin of The New York Times applauds her books as “punchy, wisecracking thrillers” whose “characters are earthy, fun and self-deprecating” and distinguishes her as having “one of the best-branded franchise styles in current crime writing.”

Scottoline also writes a weekly column with her daughter Francesca Serritella titled “Chick Wit,” which is a witty and fun take on life from a woman’s perspective. After running in the Philadelphia Inquirer for 15 years, Chick Wit is now available online. These stories, along with many other never-before-published stories, have been collected in a New York Times bestselling series of humorous memoirs including their most recent I See Life Through Rosé-Colored Glasses and Why My Third Husband Will Be a Dog, which has been optioned for TV.

Scottoline has served as president of Mystery Writers of America and has taught a course she developed, “Justice and Fiction” at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, her alma mater. She has more than 30 million copies of her books in print and is published in more than 35 countries. Scottoline lives in the Philadelphia area with an array of disobedient pets, and she says she wouldn’t have it any other way.
