Stormont Vail Health Welcomes Lauren Miller, D.O., to the Primary Care Team in Emporia

Stormont Vail Health proudly welcomes Dr. Lauren Miller, an internal medicine physician with lifelong ties to the Emporia community, to the Cotton O'Neil Emporia Clinic at 1301 W. 12th Ave. Dr. Miller's expertise in preventative care and chronic condition management will support the health of her hometown.

As a new mother and dedicated physician, Dr. Miller's commitment to family and community health is stronger than ever. Her interest in medicine started as a child following her own mother's breast cancer diagnosis. This personal experience underscored primary care physicians' pivotal role in patient health and recovery, inspiring her to pursue a career focused on advocacy and service.

"Primary care is all about helping people and making them the best they can be," Dr. Miller said. "The most rewarding part of my job is when patients feel I've helped them."

Dr. Miller's approach to medicine emphasizes building relationships with her patients, encouraging their involvement in decision-making, and empowering them to take control of their health.

"I'm your teammate; we make decisions for your healthcare together. Working together with patients is the most important part of my job. I want to have a personal relationship with all of my patients. I hope to build that trust with everyone I see every day."

After completing her undergraduate studies at Emporia State University, Dr. Miller earned her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at A.T. Still University - Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed her residency in internal medicine at Freeman Health System in Joplin, Missouri.
