Topeka Collegiate to Honor Veterans with Special Veterans Day Celebration
Topeka Collegiate School is proud to announce its annual Veterans Day Recognition Assembly, a beloved tradition honoring the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. The event will take place Tuesday, November 11, 2025, beginning with a breakfast at 7:30 AM in the school commons, followed by the Veterans Day Assembly at 9:00 AM in the Assembly Hall.
Families, veterans, and community members are warmly invited to attend this meaningful event. An RSVP is requested via email to Mrs. Tamara Buche, faculty organizer.
The morning will begin with breakfast and fellowship among students, families, and honored guests. At 9:00 AM, the community will gather in the Assembly Hall for a special program featuring:
Presentation of the flags and colors by local Scouts
The Pledge of Allegiance and school song
The National Anthem, performed by middle school students
Musical selections and personal reflections from Topeka Collegiate faculty and community members
“It is an honor to have Topeka Collegiate recognize the service of the brave men and women of our school community, and all veterans, having given of their time and talents to defend the country,” said Michael Flax, Acting Head of School. “The opportunity for our students to hear directly from veterans gives them a first-hand account of the sacrifice and strength of spirit that come with serving one’s country.”
This year’s program will be emceed by Mrs. Leilani Grey, and coordinated by the dedicated Veterans Day Committee: Bill Buckler, Mrs.Megan Kopshinsky, Mrs. Dina Dudinyak, Mrs. Elizabeth Emory, Mrs. Tamara Buche, Ms. Aubrey Cook, and Justin Nikodem.
Community members are encouraged to join Topeka Collegiate in celebrating this important day of remembrance and gratitude.
