Stormont Vail Health Earns Recognition for Quality and Safety in Endoscopy
Stormont Vail Health is proud to announce that it has received a three-year renewal recognition for quality and safety in endoscopy from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). Stormont Vail is one of more than 600 endoscopy units to be granted the recognition since 2009.
“It’s a privilege to be recognized once again by ASGE for our commitment to excellence in endoscopic care,” said Dr. Khalil Abuamr, Associate Physician at Cotton O’Neil Digestive Health. “It’s a meaningful acknowledgement of our entire team’s dedication to working collaboratively, supporting one another, and delivering the highest standard of care to every patient we serve.”
To be recognized by ASGE, an endoscopy unit must demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and quality in endoscopy as evidenced by meeting the program’s rigorous criteria, which includes following the ASGE guidelines on privileging, quality assurance, endoscope reprocessing, CDC infection control guidelines, and ensuring endoscopy staff competency.
