Topeka Zoo Launches 24-Hour Giving Challenge: Goal to Raise $25,000 for Animals and Conservation
The Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center is inviting the community to make a wild difference in just 24 hours! On October 2, the Zoo will host a one-day fundraising challenge to raise $25,000 in support of animal care, global conservation, and creating an inclusive, welcoming experience for all visitors.
“Every day we strive to enrich our community through wildlife conservation and education,” said Christina Castellano, CEO of the Topeka Zoo. “This campaign is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together and make a meaningful impact in 24 hours.”
Donations of every size will help the Zoo reach its goal. A few examples of the impact include:
$150–$250 – Provides specialized foraging feeders for primates.
$260 – Buys one toy for a giraffe.
$330 – Feeds Tank, the Zoo’s hippo, for one month.
$900 – Feeds lions Asante and Tatu for one month.
$1,100 – Purchases an enrichment ball for an elephant.
$1,500 – Covers a dental exam for a tiger.
$10,830 – Feeds all the animals at the Zoo for one month.
Your generosity fuels opportunities that bond families, provide innovative educational classes and scholarships, and nurture the next generation of conservation leaders.
The Zoo is excited to add that local food truck, Flavor Wagon, will be parked at the Zoo to show their support from 11 am – 1 pm. A portion of the proceeds from each sale will go directly back to the Zoo – meaning you can show love to TWO local organizations at once!
