Greater Topeka Partnership Announces Madison, Wisconsin as 2026 Intercity Visit Destination: Tickets Now on Sale

The Greater Topeka Partnership is thrilled to announce that this summer, GTP members are heading to Madison, Wisconsin, with the 2026 InterCity Visit set for June 23 – 26. A curated delegation of leaders, professionals, and changemakers from Topeka and Shawnee County will travel together to one of America’s fastest-growing capital cities to build relationships, learn from peers, and bring home actionable ideas that advance our community.

Over four immersive days, delegates will explore Madison’s dynamic approach to innovation and placemaking — beginning at the Wisconsin State Capitol, where participants will gain perspective on how a fellow capital city aligns policy, growth, and civic engagement. The itinerary continues with guided exploration of downtown Madison, examining how the city blends historic character with modern urban design to create a vibrant, people‑first core. Throughout the visit, attendees will enjoy purposeful networking — including an evening overlooking the lakefront that is designed to spark collaboration among public, private, and nonprofit leaders. A dedicated Community & Regional Collaboration conversation will spotlight strategies for cross‑sector partnerships and regional alignment, while a deep‑dive into the Lake Monona waterfront redevelopment will highlight how bold waterfront revitalization can strengthen quality of life, attract talent, and catalyze investment.

“InterCity is one of our community’s most effective learning labs, and Madison is an ideal classroom,” said Molly Howey, CEO of the Greater Topeka Partnership. “This is a hands‑on opportunity for community leaders, business leaders, elected officials, and Partnership members to engage with a peer city, examine what’s working, and bring home practical insights that help take Topeka and Shawnee County to the next level.”

“There’s a real energy around this year’s trip,” said Bob Ross, President of the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce. “InterCity fuels momentum. The conversations we’ll have in Madison —about downtown vitality, regional teamwork, and transformative projects like the Lake Monona waterfront — can translate into tangible progress back home. We’re excited for what this experience will unlock for our businesses and our community.”

The InterCity Visit welcomes a broad cross‑section of participants — from established executives and public officials to emerging leaders and engaged citizens — who are eager to learn, connect, and help shape Topeka and Shawnee County’s future. Tickets are now on sale at https://bit.ly/ICV2026. Registration deadline is May 20, 2026.
