GO Topeka Ignites The 2026 Small Business Awards With Announcement of Finalists

GO Topeka is excited to announce that 18 local businesses have been named finalists for recognition at Topeka and Shawnee County’s 45th Annual Small Business Awards. Covering six categories, the 2026 Small Business Awards—organized by GO Topeka and the Greater Topeka Partnership—will be held downtown on Thursday, May 7, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Topeka Social. The evening will celebrate the strength and impact of the local small business community, culminating in the announcement of category winners and the 2026 TopCity Small Business of the Year.

This year’s theme, “The Fire of Determination,” highlights the passion, resilience, and drive that fuel small business success. The 2026 finalists exemplify that spirit—turning challenges into opportunities and continuing to move Topeka and Shawnee County forward.

Awards will be presented in the following categories: Micro Enterprise, Women-Owned Small Business, Minority-Owned Small Business, Gold Spoon Award (new in 2026), Small Business Manufacturer, and Legacy in Business.

“We see it every day—entrepreneurs who refuse to quit, who push through challenges, and who continue building something meaningful for our community,” said Stephanie Norwood, Vice President of Entrepreneurship and Small Business for GO Topeka. “This year’s finalists embody the Fire of Determination. They are creating opportunities, strengthening our local economy, and proving that with passion and persistence, anything is possible.”
