New Silver Lake Bank location in Lawrence & 3/26 Ribbon cutting
Silver Lake Bank has opened a new full-service banking location at 4505 W. Sixth Street, Lawrence, reaffirming its deep commitment to the Lawrence community. The new branch replaces the bank’s downtown Lawrence office, which faithfully served customers for the past decade.
Designed with convenience in mind, the new West Lawrence facility features drive-through teller services, an onsite ATM, and ample free parking—providing customers with quick, accessible options for everyday banking. The modern branch is built to support both business and personal customers who value relationship-based service delivered locally.
Nick Gideon, Lawrence Market President / Loan Officer and longtime Lawrence resident, leads the local team and works closely with customers to understand and support their financial goals.
“We are excited to grow alongside the businesses and residents who make Lawrence such a great place to live and work,” Gideon said. “Our team lives and works here. That local presence makes a difference. We take pride in offering relationship-based banking that helps our customers make confident financial decisions.”
The Lawrence Chamber is recognizing this important community milestone with a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m., Thursday, March 26 at Silver Lake Bank’s new branch at 4505 W. 6th St. The public is welcome to attend.
The bank’s longstanding dedication to community involvement is also reflected in its active partnerships and sponsorships across Douglas County. Silver Lake Bank proudly supports organizations that strengthen local families, youth, and food security —including Grow Food. Grow Health., the O’Connell Youth Shelter, Junior Achievement, and Cottonwood Inc, among others. The bank is also a longtime supporter of cherished local traditions and educational organizations such as the Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade, in addition to local schools and Kansas University Athletics.
Headquartered in Topeka, Silver Lake Bank operates six locations across Northeast Kansas. The community bank specializes in business banking, offering customized loans and deposit solutions that help local businesses, municipalities, and organizations start, grow, and succeed. The bank also provides competitive consumer accounts paired with personalized service and modern digital banking tools.
Patrick Gideon, President and CEO of Silver Lake Bank and a University of Kansas graduate, emphasized the importance of the Lawrence community to the bank’s strategic growth.
“Lawrence has played an important role in our growth, and this new location allows us to better serve our customers now and, in the future,” Patrick Gideon said. “As a Kansas family‑owned and operated community bank, we place a high value on long‑term relationships. We are equally committed to local decision‑making, something we know our customers appreciate. We take pride in being able to provide both.”
Onsite loan officers will continue to be available at the expanded branch for faster, community-based lending decisions. Among them is Drew Thornton, a graduate of The University of Kansas with experience in commercial and residential real estate development as well as business operations. Thornton strengthens the bank’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to financing needs for businesses and individuals across Lawrence and the surrounding area.
In addition to its lending team, Silver Lake Bank benefits from having Vice President and Senior Financial Analyst Matt Manning based in Lawrence. Manning, a Sabetha native, has degrees from Kansas State University in finance and economics. He plays a vital role in the bank’s portfolio and risk management functions and provides leadership, coaching, and support to the credit analyst team. His presence in Lawrence strengthens the bank’s analytical capabilities locally and reinforces its commitment to informed, relationship‑driven decision‑making.
We are also proud to highlight Kylee Loneker, a valued member of our leadership team and a Lawrence native. Kylee serves as our Card Specialist, bringing both expertise and empathy to every customer interaction. A graduate of Fort Hays State University with a degree in Organizational Leadership, she thrives on helping people—whether she is solving complex account issues or assisting customers in recovering funds from potential fraud. Kylee serves on the boards of Lawrence Young Professionals and Leadership Lawrence through the Lawrence Chamber.
The new West Lawrence branch is now open and provides full-service banking for both businesses and consumers. Customers from the former downtown location will continue to receive the same personalized support—now in a more convenient and accessible setting.
