Visit Topeka to Host Summer Soccer Watch Party at Evergy Plaza on June 25
Visit Topeka, in partnership with Evergy Plaza, will bring the excitement of international soccer to Downtown Topeka on Thursday, June 25, with a community watch party featuring live entertainment, food trucks, beverages, family-friendly activities and a festive plaza atmosphere.
The free event will coincide with Envista Eats & Beats and TopCity Interns, creating a full evening of activity in the heart of downtown. Guests are invited to gather at Evergy Plaza for the USA vs. Turkey matchup, with food, drinks and entertainment beginning before the 9 p.m. match.
Live entertainment will include Jake Banfield at 7:15 p.m. Food trucks scheduled for the evening include Todd’s BBQ, DJ’s Diner, Bobby’s Food Co., JLG Mexi-Q, Twisted Treats, Poppin Squeeze and R&G Sweetery. Guests can also enjoy a beer garden from Iron Rail and cocktails from Oasis Mobile Bar.
“Events like these give us a chance to connect Topeka to international moments in a way that feels local, welcoming and fun,” said Sean Dixon, president of Visit Topeka. “Soccer brings people together across countries and cultures, and hosting this watch party at Evergy Plaza allows our community to be part of that excitement right here in Downtown Topeka.”
The June 25 event will also feature family-friendly activities, soccer-themed fun, and a red, white and blue fountain show following the match. Downtown businesses are encouraged to take part in the celebration, with opportunities for extended hours, themed promotions and added activity throughout the district.

Additional summer soccer watch parties are planned for Tuesday, June 16, for Argentina vs. Algeria, and Saturday, June 27, for Algeria vs. Austria. These three featured dates are expected to include the largest event activations, with food and beverage options, entertainment, family-friendly activities, soccer-themed fun and plaza features. Additional game showings will be added throughout the tournament, and guests are encouraged to check Evergy Plaza’s social media channels for the latest schedule.
Together, the watch parties are designed to showcase Downtown Topeka as a gathering place for major events, shared experiences and community celebration. Additional information about vendors, entertainment, community partners and participating downtown businesses will be shared closer to each event.
