Capper Foundation Announces New Southwest Topeka Dialogue Coffee House Location
A new Dialogue Coffee House in southwest Topeka featuring expanded hours will open before the end of the year.
The new storefront will be the seventh Dialogue Coffee House in the Topeka and Silver Lake area. Located at 3711 B SW Wanamaker Road, it will expand Dialogue’s presence and Capper Foundation’s mission into southwest Topeka while introducing new conveniences for customers.
While the new location represents continued growth for Dialogue, the expansion is about much more than adding another coffee shop.
“Each new Dialogue location gives us the opportunity to extend our mission in a very visible and meaningful way,” said Zach Ahrens, President and CEO of Capper Foundation. “We are proud that more than 50 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have already had employment opportunities through Dialogue, and this new location will allow us to provide those opportunities to even more people. Growth is exciting, but what matters most is the impact that growth has on the individuals we serve and their ability to build skills, confidence, and greater independence.”
Dialogue Coffee House combines a welcoming community coffee shop that serves drinks, homemade baked goods, and lunch items with integrated workforce training for individuals with disabilities. Team members gain experience in areas such as customer service, food and beverage preparation, teamwork, communication, responsibility and other skills that can support future employment opportunities.
Additional information, including an opening date, operating hours and grand opening details, will be announced as construction and preparations progress.
Capper Foundation President and CEO Zach Ahrens is available for on-camera media interviews today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
