TAP THAT Topeka: a Capital Brew Fest returns for year four on June 25, same location (800 block of SW Jackson with a view of the Statehouse), but with a few added twists.
TAP THAT Topeka: a Capital Brew Festival has experienced tremendous growth over its four years of existence. Downtown Topeka, Inc. created the event in 2012 as a result of the growing American Craft Beer and home brewing trends evidenced across the United States. With over forty participating brewers and representing distributors and over one hundred and forty brew styles for sampling, TAP THAT is now the largest brew festival in Topeka. Sampling events, such as TAP THAT, provide the attendee an opportunity to sample several beer styles not always readily available to them, while learning about the science of brewing. Some of the favorite Kansas brewers attending include, but limited to this list, are Blind Tiger Brewery (Topeka), Tallgrass Br
ewery (Manhattan), Walnut River Brewing Company (El Dorado), Yankee Tank Brewing Company (Lawrence), Kansas Territory Brewing Company (Washington), Defiance Brewing Company (Hays) and Wichita Brewing Company & Pizzeria (Wichita).
This year’s festival is scheduled for June 25 in the evening and has added some additional twists for attendees – live music, more food trucks, a Cicerone Table and expanded the number of available tickets. VIP Reserve Sampling, General Admission and Designated Driver tickets are all available for a variety of experience levels. Attendees must be 21 years and over to participate.
*VIP Tickets ($65): 4pm start, sampling "RESERVE" brew styles available only to VIP Ticket holders, then continue sampling with the rest of the crowd from 5pm to 8pm.
*GENERAL Tickets ($35): 5pm start, sampling over 140 brew styles from across the country (this is an American Craft brew festival!). Sample until 8pm.
DESIGNATED DRIVER Tickets ($10): Be the hero of the day and enjoy some complimentary PEPSI products to stay hydrated. (Sorry, no alcohol for DDs!) *All VIP and GENERAL ticket holders receive sampling glass at entry.
TAP THAT Topeka is a fundraiser to subsidize costs of the over twenty five free community events hosted by Downtown Topeka, Inc.
