Azura Credit Union Community Giving

Azura Credit Union static1.squarespacedistributed $20,000 in donations this week to the Topeka Rescue Mission and Boys and Girls Club of Topeka. These funds will benefit the youth of Topeka through the impactful programs provided by both organizations. Frank Henderson, Jr. and Barry Feaker accepted the $10,000 donation on behalf of the Topeka Rescue Mission. The funds were accrued from the generosity of Azura’s members who have chosen the Azura Community Impact Debit Card or donated to the Skip-A-Pay fund the first part of 2016.  These funds will help support the general fund at Topeka Rescue Mission and will also help fund their new children’s program, “Dare to Grow.”  This is a summer program at the NET Reach Center, in the Hi-Crest Community.  Children up to 12 years old will participate in gardening, arts, sports, dance, science, math, cooking and team building tasks. The program will provide a safe place for children in the community to spend their summer.

Krystal Wiltz and Dawn McWilliams were present to accept the $10,000 for The Boys and Girls Club of Topeka.  The donation will allow for the purchase and utilization of the “More than Money” curriculum, to furnish the financial literacy room at the Boys and Girls Club of Topeka with tables, chairs, iPads and a Smart Board. Azura staff will volunteer this summer to update the room’s design and look.  In addition, Azura Credit Union has pledged to help sustain the efforts of the Boys and Girls Club of Topeka in future years with continued funding.

“Azura Credit Union is built on the foundation that we will improve more lives in our community. We will always have great financial services available to those in the community, but we appreciate the opportunity to go beyond. To support opportunities, like these, where we can help the community with critical and impactful programs,” said Greg Winkler President/CEO of Azura Credit Union.
