City of Topeka Hosts Twitter Townhall #WWCLive

whatworkscitiesWho: Topeka City Manager Jim Colson, moderated by Sunlight Foundation and What Works Cities When: 12 to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 12

Where: Twitter

What: Twitter Townhall. People can submit questions for the City to answer using the hashtag #WWCLive. They are taking questions from 12 to 12:30, so you can even schedule the tweet if that makes it easier. We’ll be answering questions pertaining to open data and governance.

Why: The City of Topeka is trying to get the word out about the City’s open data initiative, particularly being named a What Works Cities by the Bloomberg Foundation and their ongoing partnership with the John Hopkins University’s Center for Government Excellence and the Sunlight Foundation. The City would like to call attention to our open data portal (data.topeka.org) and the data sets available (open checkbook, budget & projects).
