Citywide recognition of Jim Colson scheduled Friday, Oct. 7

The celebration will take place from 3 to 5 p.m., during which entrance to the zoo will be free. There will be a brief program, featuring Topeka Mayor Larry Wolgast and Deputy Mayor Michelle De La Isla and others, from 3:30 to 4 p.m. in the Zoo’s pavilion, followed by treats and punch.

“Please join us in recognizing Colson and what he’s done for Topeka the past four years,” Wolgast said. “His legacy in Topeka and the team he has built continue to take Topeka forward well beyond his last day with us.”
