The Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce has selected Waverly Partners, LLC, to conduct a professional search for a new president and chief executive officer. Waverly Partners, LLC, has offices nationwide and conducts multiple executive searches for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives and Fortune 500 clients. Waverly Partners is a member of the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce. “We believe their expertise in this area will align well with our efforts to hire a qualified candidate who possesses the attributes and experience we need to support Topeka’s business community,” said Brent Boles, chairman of the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce.
Boles said the executive committee reviewed multiple recruitment proposals from local and national organizations, including several Chamber members, before selecting Waverly Partners. Now that a firm has been selected, he said the executive committee plans to review applications and conduct interviews in August and September and announce the successful candidate in October along with the individual’s start date.
During this transition period, Boles said, “The Chamber and GO Topeka board members and staff have been working diligently to not only maintain operations but to enhance them. A June membership event brought in 169 new Chamber businesses and planning is underway for Expedition Topeka, a two-day event Oct. 8-9 designed to highlight the strides our city has made as a result of previous intercity benchmarking exchange trips. GO Topeka made four major announcements this summer for Mars, FHLBank Topeka, Koch & Company Inc. and Alorica. With downtown development almost completed, this is an exceptionally exciting time for our organizations and our city and we are confident that we will be able to attract a top candidate to continue the momentum.”
