The Capital City Jazz and Food Truck Festival is this Saturday, Oct. 8. More than 26 food trucks will be available, along with numerous beer gardens. The New Breed Brass Band from New Orleans will be headlining with Stan Kessler and the KC All-Stars opening at 6 p.m. Washburn University Jazz students will be performing in the pocket parks from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The event is on Kansas Avenue between 8th and 10th and is FREE. The public is invited to bring their own lawn chairs. Last year more than 5,000 people attended. The event is presented by DTI, VTI and the Topeka Jazz Workshop.
