Wendy Wells, regional commercial manager for Kansas and Northern Missouri for U.S. Bank and chair-elect of the GO Topeka board of directors, is one of 43 senior women leaders recently named to U.S. Bank’s Women’s Leadership Group. Wells’ responsibilities recently expanded from her previous role as Topeka market president. The U.S. Bank Women’s Leadership Group is tasked with “inspiring courageous leadership to move women forward both personally and professionally and transform community banking.”
Its tenets are to create meaningful connections, advance leadership competency and enable the sponsorship of women.
“Developing leadership talent is personally very important to me as well as to my employer, so I am very honored to join this prestigious group,” said Wells. “I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can to share with my team members in Kansas and Missouri.”
Wells was a member of the 2007 Leadership Greater Topeka program and has sponsored several colleagues to participate in it since.
Matt Pivarnik, president and chief executive officer of GO Topeka and the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce, said, “With any endeavor she undertakes, Wendy looks for ways to build upon progress underway and search for new insights that can expand a project’s scope. Her role with this group will be no different, and I’m confident her colleagues will benefit from her expertise and ideas as much as she will benefit from theirs.”
U.S. Bank has consistently been recognized for women in leadership, most recently with two employees named in a top 25 list of the most powerful women in banking published in July 2016 by the American Banker.
