Westar Energy introduced many other new customer friendly services earlier this year, including:
- A new mobile device friendly website.
- Text message or e-mail updates were introduced for customers who would like to stay informed when their power is out and an estimate of when power should be restored.
- A Pay As You Go offering that allows customers with an advanced digital meter the option of prepaying for their electricity which many find useful to help them budget their energy bills.
- Westar Home Services allows customers to purchase low cost protection for their internal or exterior electrical equipment on a home or business.
