Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

2 Days Left to Help YWCA

ywcaYou can help the YWCA Northeast Kansas make a real difference in our community! The YWCA Northeast Kansas was recently chosen to take part in the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge, a fundraising campaign that starts the conversation about domestic violence. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, as we partner together to end the cycle of abuse in our community. Why a Purple Purse Challenge? Eight out of Ten Americans have not heard physical abuse is often tied to financial abuse.

YWCAs and other domestic violence shelters around the country participate in the Purple Purse Challenge.  The organization that raises the most during the month of October gets an added $100,000 donation to their cause!  Second place gets $75,000, third gets $50,000, fourth gets $25,000 and fifth place gets a $20,000 donation.

We also have a challenge grant on the table.  If we raise $200,000 this year, the Capital Capitol Federal Foundation has pledged to donate an additional $50,000!  This money will go toward operating expenses for the YWCA’s vital programs that help thousands of women and families in your community every year.  This means your donation today could be multiplied at a time we need it the most.

One hundred percent of all donations to the YWCA Northeast Kansas Purple Purse website will benefit the YWCA Northeast Kansas local survivors directly. But hurry, the challenge ends on October 27th, 2015.

To donate, CLICK HERE YWCA NORTHEAST KANSAS PURPLE PURSE CHALLENGE or go to the www.ywcaneks.org website and look for purple purse challenge. Every donation makes a difference; and remember, your dollars this month could be multiplied!
