Architect One Expands to Kansas City
Originally founded in Topeka, Kansas in 1988, Architect One has provided full-service architecture, planning and interior design services to much of the Midwest. With notable Topeka projects such as the Cyrus Hotel, Fellowship Bible Church, Brewster Place, Aldersgate Village, CoreFirst Bank & Trust, White Linen, the Topeka Center for Advanced Learning and Careers, the Revitalization of Downtown Topeka and many more, the firm is looking to build upon the lasting relationships they’ve established over the past 30 years.
“We had a growing list of clients who were asking us to help them with design solutions for their new locations, expansions and investment properties in the Kansas City area,” said Scott Gales, President and CEO of Architect One. “This was leading us to be in the area on a regular basis, and it became obvious that having a design studio in the heart of KC would help us better assist our clients and consultants with the growing needs.”
The Kansas City office will be located at 1919 Wyandotte in the vibrant Crossroads Art District, where they hope to become connected to their creative surroundings.
“We chose the general location due to the creative spirit already in place within Kansas City's Crossroads district,” said Christopher Mitchell, principal and manager of the Kansas City office. “We were fortunate to find a storefront condition that allows us to be engaged with the constant activity at the street level. Our interior space is essentially an open studio, similar in nature to the surrounding art galleries and, more importantly, the architecture studios we experienced as students.”
The team at Architect One will be hosting a grand opening ceremony on Thursday, October 24 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. The event is open to the public and will celebrate the past, current and future success of the organization.
