Topeka's 1 Million Cups is going weekly in 2020
Topeka's 1 Million Cups is going weekly in 2020. The event, which features presentations by entrepreneurs telling the story of their business, is set to transition from once a month to the weekly format starting February 5. The event is held on Wednesdays at 9 am at 712 Innovations.
In 2012, the Kauffman Foundation launched the program with the goal to “educate, engage, and inspire entrepreneurs around the country.” Since then, 180 communities have adopted the program.
1MC Topeka has provided a stage to many young businesses looking to connect with other members of the entrepreneurial community. For new entrepreneurs, seasoned businessmen and women, and anyone interested in hearing about innovative new businesses in Topeka, 1MC Topeka is a “front door” to Topeka’s entrepreneurial community.
Local entrepreneur and owner of Ardent Media, Bryan Daugharthy, puts it this way, “I attend 1 million cups because it is amazing to gather with so many like-minded entrepreneurs in Topeka and help support one another in any way we can. If that’s offering services that we provide or just learning how to better run our small businesses, it’s fun. The donuts and coffee are a bonus as well.”
Individuals interested in attending or presenting at the event can check out the 1 Million Cups website at 1millioncups.com/topeka.
The 2019 organizing team would also like to thank the sponsors, PT's Coffee and CoreFirst Bank & Trust, for their generous support of the program. Anyone interested in supporting 1MC in 2020 can message info@712innovations.com to find out more details.
