TopCity Interns Kicks Off
The official kickoff is June 4 at 5 p.m. at the Topeka Zoo. Interns and guests will enjoy food and drinks from local breweries while getting to explore the zoo after hours. A special thank you to our sponsors who have made this program possible: Westar Energy, US Bank, Mize Houser & Company P.A., and Kansas Medical Clinic.
TopCity Interns seeks to help young college graduates give serious consideration to Topeka for their first jobs in their chosen professions. Through large-scale social gathering and regularly scheduled education programs, Forge aims to impart a lasting, positive impression of Topeka & Shawnee County as a place for young professionals to live, work and play. There are nearly 200 interns from all around the country registered for this year’s program, these interns come from small, medium and large businesses throughout the community.
“What a great opportunity to have interns come to Topeka and experience all that Topeka has to offer,” said Lindsay Lebahn, executive director, Forge. “Through the multiple events throughout the summer by the time the interns are finished, we expect that they will become some of Topeka’s biggest cheerleaders”.
Interns will have multiple opportunities to attend socials at The Pennant, a Brewery Crawl throughout Topeka, a BBQ at Lake Shawnee and a special VIP area at the Rock & Food Truck Concert. They will also attend three lunch & learns led by Chief Cochran with the Topeka Police Department, Clayton Financial and Cody Foster.
