Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

What have you learned since you were selected?

Wow! I have certainly learned a lot in the last six years. I think the most important thing that I have learned is that I have the right to ask for help. I don't have to always be Superwoman and do everything myself.

What do you know now that you wish you knew then?

It's so cliche, but it really is impossible to make everyone happy. I have found that the harder I have worked to make people happy (those that you bend over backwards and do flips for) will often be the ones that you end up wasting the most time on, with no appreciation in return. Sometimes it really is best to just walk away and know that it just wasn't the right fit.

What advice would you give to aspiring young professionals?

Lead with compassion. Look at your employees as your teammates, not just your employees. Share information with them. Put yourself in their shoes. Ask them for ideas. Value who they are and what they do. Work together.
