Words of Wisdom: Jared Rudy
What have you learned since you were selected?
The biggest thing I have learned is the growing need for support of non-profit's in Topeka. An important thing to me and Norsemen has been to be a part of the community. But it wasn't till after selection and the connections I made through being part of 20u40 that I learned how many organizations there were in Topeka and the vital role they play in the community.
What do you know now that you wish you knew then?
Along the same lines as above I wish I knew about all the organizations. It would create more opportunities to be involved in the community.
What advice would you give to aspiring young professionals?
My advice to aspiring young professionals is to find opportunity in your current organization to be more involved. Outside of your organization look at volunteering your time on nonprofit boards. There you will learn a lot about what's going on in the community and be even more able to help!
