What leadership skill has served you best?
Listening
Since your time as a 20 Under 40 honoree, what is the most impactful experience and what did you learn from it?
Having to admit what I was doing in my job wasn’t working. However, I did not except defeat. I learned from my failures. I learned I had to find what works for me. I could no longer try to do things the way everyone else had done them. I was the first female in my role and I was trying to do what all my male peers had always done. I learned to find my own unique abilities and talents as a female in a male-dominated industry, lead with a positive attitude and be innovative. Once I figured that out, I have completely turned things around and am excelling.
What advice do you have for future leaders?
Being a leader isn’t easy. You will have good days and you will have bad days. Never lose sight of your goals and the importance of your people. NEVER GIVE UP!
