Leadership Greater Topeka: Terri Benson
TK: What do you hope your legacy will be? Why?
I want to be remembered as the person who took the time to hold the door open for someone, enjoyed laughter to tears, knew when to dig in and get the job done and when to sit and listen. I feel it is important to be kind, have fun and laugh, value hard work and know when it’s time to be quiet, not talk and be a good listener.
TK: Who is your hero(s)? Why?My sisters are my heroes. Both of them have physical challenges and work hard to overcome things people sometimes take for granted. They are confident, kind, compassionate and well, sometimes a little annoying (well, because they are my sisters!)
TK: What have you gained from being a part of Leadership Greater Topeka?I have met some fantastic people in my class and have learned a lot from being around them and sharing their knowledge and experience. Learning adaptive leadership has also been a big part of what I have gained out of the program and getting to put those principles into action has helped me in my leadership journey.
