Education | Carla Pratt

TK: What does this honor mean to you both personally and professionally?

Carla: This honor means a lot to me personally because it is a testament to the power of education.

TK: How would you describe your leadership style?

Carla: My leadership style is empathic; I try to lead with empathy and compassion because I know that I won’t be able to make decisions that make everyone happy all the time. Nonetheless, because people know that I care, they are willing to accept a decision even when they may dislike it.

TK: Who has inspired you the most throughout your journey?

Carla: My children Payton and Christopher Pratt have inspired me the most throughout my journey. I work to make the world a better place for them and their children.

TK: What is one piece of advice you have for young females at the beginning stages of their careers?

Carla: My advice for young women who are just starting their careers is don’t be so hard on yourself. If you are a mom, take the time to be in the moment with your children; the career will still be there when the children grow up and leave.

TK: What is your theme song?

Carla: My theme song is RESPECT by Aretha Franklin because it captures the essence of what we all want as women.
