Ward-Meade Garden Glow Extends An Additional Week
Ward-Meade Garden Glow, originally scheduled for Sept. 17 to Oct. 3 at Old Prairie Town and Ward-Meade Botanical Garden, has been extended one additional weekend. Due to demand, the event will be open next Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8 and 9.
Garden Glow features lighted displays, larger than life illuminated flowers and seasonal plants illuminated by luminarias. While Garden Glow will feature some of the same displays seen at Tulips at Twilight, it will also feature some never before seen displays as well.
The event runs 7-10 p.m. nightly. Admission is a $5 donation. Children age five and under are free. Social distancing will be practiced and only a limited number of guests will be allowed in the garden at one time.
Garden Glow took the place of Apple Festival last year as a way to offer the community a fun event after so many other events had been canceled due to COVID-19. This year, foot traffic will again flow in a single direction to eliminate patrons passing each other closely while traveling in opposite directions.
“We are happy to offer the public a fun and exciting event while still being mindful of COVID-19,” said John Bell, recreation supervisor for Old Prairie Town. “With Garden Glow, we are still able to offer a great event to the community with appropriate safety guidelines in place.”
