Topeka Habitat for Humanity to Celebrate 111th Home with Homecoming Parade
Topeka Habitat for Humanity celebrated the completion of the organization’s 111th newly, constructed home.
This home, located at 2626 SW Buchanan, for the Moses Family, was constructed, despite challenges faced by the global COVID-19 pandemic, with financial support from the City of Topeka, the Quinton Heights Steele Neighborhood Association and Advisor’s Excel.
“This is a huge accomplishment for not only the organization – our staff and “core volunteers” having built the house given the restrictions placed on hosting volunteer groups – but for the Moses Family, who worked tirelessly to achieve their budgeting and financial goals and prepare their family for the now realized dream of owning a home.”
The Moses Family Home is fully furnished due to ongoing support from Advisor’s Excel, Ikea and Whirlpool. The family will soon pay a zero-interest mortgage to Topeka Habitat for Humanity.
This home marks the second completed construction by Topeka Habitat for Humanity on the block, with two more homes slated for construction in the development this year. This build would not be made possible without the land donation from Kansas Secured Title.
