What inspires you to get up and do the work?
It makes people feel and look good.
What have you learned about yourself through the challenges you have overcome?
To pray, slow down, make sense of what I'm trying to do. Have patience with myself and others. Take one day a step at a time.
How do you take care of yourself?
By getting a good night sleep, eating healthy, walking, getting nails and feet done, massages . Prayer and reflection.
What is the best advice you've ever been given? Or what advice do you have for others?
Stuff doesn't have to be done in one day. Patience is a virtue.
What is your vision for our community? Has it changed through the pandemic and racial justice reckoning of recent years?
That all communities can work together for the greater good of all. There has been quite of progress but there is much more to do.
The mission of YWCA is to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. What does YWCA's mission mean to you?
That all can live, work in a community that is fair and equitable for all.
