Kansas Chamber PAC Endorse Schmidt for Governor

The Kansas Chamber Political Action Committee (KSC PAC) on Friday announced its endorsement of Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt for Governor in the 2022 General Elections.

"Derek Schmidt is a proven champion of Kansas job creators. He has fought against harmful and unnecessary regulations, stopped federal government overreach, and pushed to remove barriers to grow jobs and increase community investments," said Christie Kriegshauser, the Kansas Chamber's Senior Director of Political Affairs.

Kriegshauser continued, "The KSC PAC appreciates the working relationship the Kansas Chamber has with Governor Laura Kelly. However, we strongly believe the vision Schmidt offers of a Kansas that can do better through more freedom and a reduction in the cost of daily living will spur economic growth and provide a brighter future for all Kansans.”

"It is important that Kansans have elected leaders who support an environment that doesn't hinder our businesses from competing across the country and around the world," said Alan Cobb, the Chamber's President and CEO. "Derek Schmidt understands the fundamental role business plays in the economic health of our state. He is the best choice for Kansas, its citizens, and its businesses."

The Kansas Chamber PAC bases its endorsements on several factors, including but not limited to candidate questionnaires, voting records, decisions made while in office, candidate interviews, and long term plans for the state.
