What do you love most about your work?
Being able to provide students and families with resources and tools they can use to better meet their needs. Each day, seeing students succeed drives me to work harder.
What led you to this career?
I've always enjoyed working with people. While I was in college, I started at a large non-profit in town working with elementary aged students. Now, I work with some of those students again at the high school level.
What have you learned from the pandemic?
One thing I've learned from the pandemic is to value my time. Spending time with my family and friends is something I've learned is very important to me. Doing more of the things I love has become a big part of my life.
What music artist do you never get tired of?
Mariah Carey! I have been a HUGE fan of hers since her first album. I have found strength and comfort in so many of her songs. If I had to, I could recite lyrics to 95% of her songs from every album.
What are you grateful for?
I'm grateful for the opportunity to have a job doing something I love. Making a positive impact in the community brings so much joy to my heart.
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My greatest inspiration comes from the students and families I serve. They keep me motivated to become the best version of myself that I can be.
Who are your mentors?
I have several mentors in the community. They are people that I've collaborated with on various projects or through partner agencies. Each of them provides me with support anytime I need it. My mentors give me advice on my career, life, love, family, and my health.
What’s the last series you binge-watched?
I'm really late to binge-watching shows. One night over Winter break, I watched all of Squid Games.
What is your favorite app?
Google Search. I can start typing a question and get the answer in seconds! I can see pictures or videos from anywhere in the world.
